Mathematics and Applied Mathematics
Aim
Personnel Training Objectives: For the specialized project of number theory and algebra, we plant to cultivate all-round developed students who will master the basis of mathematics, mathematical thought, ways and means very well. This project will provide systematic training of number theory and algebra for the students who are interested in advance, so that they can get a main idea for the modern number theory and algebra. And this project will enhance students' mathematical literacy, make solid basis of mathematics for the mathematical research in the future. And this will make preparation for the graduate of number theory and algebra. This can be further enhanced the influence of this major and promote the discipline construction. Training Standards: By studying the basic theory and basic methods of mathematics, the students in this major could accept the basic training of mathematics science research and application, comprehend the frontier of some aspects of the theory and its application, and are familiar with a foreign language and computer. Graduates should meet the following requirements: 1.Study the basis of mathematics very well, accept more rigorous scientific thinking training, and master the basic theory and basic methods. 2.Have the ability of solving practical problems by using mathematical knowledge and methods, particular, the establishment of the mathematical model; get a main idea of the application of mathematics in economy, finance, biology, geology and management and so on. 3.Can use a foreign language synthetically, familiar with computer and some mathematics software, have the ability to develop applications. 4. Comprehend the frontier of some aspects of mathematics and its application. 5.Have strong ability of language expression; master the basic methods of Data query, document retrieval and obtaining information via Internet; have the ability of scientific research and teaching. 6.Understand that the national science and technology, intellectual property and other relevant policies and regulations.
